To make sure there are no more Hillary Clintons in this world. . .

Florida has now decided that political awareness groups will now be boys only.

That's right folks, it's a Boys State.

I know, I know, they say they have a Girls State, but really, that's just an afterthought.

It goes a little something like this:

"Now, you know you want to get your wonderful beautiful baby boy into this program about government where they can get involved in local government proceedings and stuff, but if you happen to have a girl, well, you can get her involved in the other program we have that might accomodate her."

See? Even "By God and Country", us womenz aren't supposed to get a say.

They start young. They start young. . .

Its probably just because women should focus on things they can understand like cooking, cleaning and having kids, not politics. Theres a little organ in the female brain that blocks political thoughts from coming in or out.

Hilary Clinton just...has a penis.

Well of course she does. Why? Because she has an awful temper and short hair, tha'ts why. Hell, I'm sure she even has a lesbian lover on the side.

I'm surprised they don't have a group for girls that is just that, cooking, cleaning, having kids, and pleasing men in bed.

Those are the main functions of woman.

This is one of the stupider things I've seen you post, and that's saying a lot. The American Legion Girls State was started in 1938, before Gloria Steinem was out of kindergarten. Therefore your comment that "Florida has now decided that political awareness groups will now be boys only" is not only false but completely nonsensical. Florida has decided nothing, this is a national organization, and it is not a boys only organization.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Girls_State

"Through these programs, it is estimated that each summer the American Legion Auxiliary alone is adding 19,000 girls trained in the processes of government to a group that by the end of 2006 will total about 1,103,000."

"trained in the processes of government"-yeah, that sounds a lot like cooking cleaning and having kids to me.

Of course none of us have to worry about any future Hilary Clintons coming out of the program, since it is an organization of proud US Veterans. Maybe a few Condis, but definitely no Hils.

You'd notice, if you had any reading skills, that I said that the Girls State program seems to be brushed under the rug, and this is based on my personal experience.

Do they still do that Hooked on Phonics thing? You should try it.

Yes, I read it. It doesn't explain your disingenuous statement that "Florida has now decided..." as if this is something new under the sun, and as if it is some sort of program run by the state of FL. Of course we're used to feminists distorting the truth in order to reach, stretch and try to ferret out far-fetched examples of so-called oppression.

"this is based on my personal experience"

Realy? You have personal experience within an organization of US war veterans? Please, do tell.

"Do they still do that Hooked on Phonics thing? You should try it. "

I can read just fine. Again, perhaps you could enlighten us about the meaning of your statement "Florida has now decided..." I'm not an English professor but I doubt I'm the only one who thinks that statement lacks veracity. What has "Florida" decided? When did "Florida" make this decision (given the facts, one can only assume you equate "now" with pre-1938).

Florida has decided to only pass out government tryouts to boys in my high school.

That's what Florida's decided.

And unless you go to my high school, I think you'd have a hard time refuting it. I told you this is my experience.

Please begone patriarchy lover.
